What is Flow Rate Measurement?

Flow rate test used to measure the strength and speed of urination, a bladder scan is performed after urinating to check how much urine is left behind in the bladder

Flow rate testing is performed to objectively assess the urine flow when there is difficulty in passing urine. It is also used to monitor the success of medical and surgical treatments. It may indicate whether there is a blockage to urination.

You will need to arrive for the test with a comfortably full bladder. You will be asked to urinate into a special urinal, make sure you pee completely into the urinal. An ultrasound bladder scan will be performed after urinating to see how much urine is left in the bladder.
